Roos can't hold Scorpions in the finals stage

Sunday 9th August 2009
In the finals for the first time, the Roos fought hard, but were unable to contain the more organised Scorpions outfit. It's been a good season and there have been marked improvements across the board, with some good pointers toward what needs to be improved on to succeed in the coming years.

2 losses! Roos 6:6:42 Mosquitoes 12.7.79 / Roos 4:5:29 Scorpions 10:11:71

Saturday June 27, 2009
The last 10 guys in the club travelled up to Manchester for the double header against the Mosquitoes and Scorpions. On the smaller pitch, struggling to gel together in unfamiliar positions, it was always hard going, even with the borrowed Demons players - thanks guys! We welcomed Nathan for his Roo's debut as well, with a good performance in the middle. Ads got wihtin a foot of his first goal for the club, but will have to wait for a bit longer.

2 wins! Roos 5:2:32 vs Dragons 3:2:20 / Roos 9:9:63 vs Hawks 2:2:14

Saturday June 13, 2009
Our first double header saw the Roos comfortably defeat the Hawks, before struggling to catch a fast moving Dragon's side. With Ads umpiring and Brent covering at the back, the team struggled to cope with the swift opposition until the second half, when the bench made the difference, giving us some fresh legs. Full marks to Justin who covered an enormous amount fo ground and Stephen playing his first match and getting his reward with a goal at the end of the game.

South London Demons 34 Reading Kangaroos 3

Saturday May 16, 2009
A big hand to the guys who made it out to Clapham Common at the weekend and put in a fantastic effort against one of the best clubs around. Along with some borrowed Demons, we restricted them to very few real chances and battled hard for everything. With a bit more luck of the bounce when we had the ball in the forward line, the scores might have been a lot closer as well. Top performers were Brent, Jules and Ben, covering a huge amount of ground through the game. We welcomed David Knight and Andy Roberts for their first games for the club and there was a rumour that Ads managed to sidestep someone, though this is unconfirmed and frankly less than believable. It finished 4.10 to 0.3 in favour of the Dees.

Bristol Dockers 28 Reading Kangaroos 43

Saturday May 9, 2009
A solid start with a decent win against the Dockers, eventually coming off the pitch winning 43-28 on a day when the wind did everything possible to spoil the marking game. Some very good performances across the field, highlights of which were probably Justin’s debut in the backline, Whit's 4 goals and Justin's debut in the backline.
